Work Principles
How we agree to show up for each other.
  • Get shit done.

    Be proactive and decisive. Seek progress over perfection. Don’t just have an idea - execute it. Never dismiss something as being above or below your pay grade.

  • Be a joy to communicate with.

    Reach out, ask questions, and listen carefully. Give feedback that is helpful, receive feedback with grace. When in doubt, brevity and levity.

  • Be frugal.

    Do more with less. Be deliberate with how you spend time and money. Practice skepticism and embrace scrappiness, we’ve got a proud tradition of both.

  • Be a gear head.

    Become deeply familiar with our products, including opinions on our prototypes and roadmap. Interact regularly and enthusiastically with our customers. Thoroughly understand our competition and the products they make.

  • Know how the sausage is made.

    Learn how the entire Peak Design machine works, upstream and downstream from you. Think both big (strategy) and small (details). Consider how your decisions might impact teammates and shape perception of our brand.

  • Have opinions.

    Share your opinion even if you think it might be unpopular. Make sure you have enough context for your comments to be accurate and helpful. You will be wrong sometimes - own it, learn from it, keep moving.

  • Have hard conversations.

    Act promptly on disagreements, hard feelings, and well-meaning but tough feedback. Quickly carve out time for a meaningful 1:1 conversation to talk it out. When on the receiving end, be a good listener, avoid defensiveness, and try to “sleep on it” before responding.

  • Prioritize People

    Fostering equity and belonging means identifying and correcting unseen biases in our processes and habits. Speak up, listen intently. Familiarize yourself with our goals and seek solutions through your unique role.

  • Prioritize the planet.

    Lessening the environmental impact of our manufacturing and operations means seeking solutions ranging from pragmatic to radical. Never mislead through greenwashing. Familiarize yourself with our goals and seek solutions through your unique role.
